RACE 2
Why are there so many races now? This few days are like WHOA...races after races... this will all end after 12 april 2006, The National Schools Cross-Country 2006. Haiz, don't it just sound so grand? But will we ever get a prize? The answer is a simple no.
Well today was not bad though. Started very sudden. It all happened very quicky. We went to report at the starting line. And the man just talked a bit of rubbish and BOOM. Off we went. Our race plan for today was simple. Stick together. So I sticked together with Hendy like glue. We never separated.( Don't think we are gays.) Even if someone was in front of us, we splitted to both sides and cross the person and rejoin back. It was funny but true. So together, with a slow and steady start, we managed to overtake people, who dashed at the start and are unable to keep the pace. Slowly, Wee Kiat came along and my primary schoolmate, Gary. I told myself," this is impossible. He cannot be in front of me!" So I left Hendy unknowingly in an attempt to catch with Gary.
And I managed to catch up. Maintaining that way, I continued running without Hendy beside me. Guessed he had stitch. Can't do anything about it. So eyeing the person in front, I quickened my pace again. Breathing heavily, the dry and hot air entered my throat evaporating every water droplet present. I gathered my saliva and swallowed it, hoping that it could dampened my throat. The interaction of both the dry surface n liquid amalyase created a excrutiating pain. Feeling much better, I continued chasing. It was not easy, but I managed to become neck to neck. Fatique sets in and again I felt weak. Slowing down by a bit, immediately 2 people overtook me. *jawdropped* What choice did I have? I was too tired to do anything. Noticing that I was reaching the destination, I started opening up my stride, increasing the frequency with every step I took. In just seconds, it was just the last stretch and me. Stepping into the cheering atmosphere, everyone starts running faster. Obviously I will not be an exception. So I started running faster. Gradually, it got faster and faster. Soon, it broke into a CHIONG. All the way to the end. *puking action* but nothing came out. The acidic feeling filled my mouth. Ahhh although that feeling was shitty but it sure felt familiar--the end of the race.
Timing- 17.43 for 4.8km( personal best)
Timing for school x-country- 18.22 for 4.8km
not a bad improvement I see? haha
to emily: maybe could have caught up with u with this timing? haha
